If you're experiencing pauses and slipping while running on your treadmill, you may want to learn how to adjust treadmill belt tension. To do this, you can use the bolts at the rear of the machine. The bolts are located in the middle and on each side of the rear roller. You can also loosen the belt by tightening the bolts on the side of the machine. Changing the tension of the drive motor belt is one of the easiest ways to fix these issues.

To adjust the treadmill belt, you'll need to loosen the bolt on the left side of the machine. Typically, the bolt is located at the base, towards the rear of the deck. To find the bolt, use your owner's manual or a step-by-step guide. If the alignment is off, you can loosen the belt by turning the Allen wrench in the nut. You can then move the belt to the right or left based on the alignment test.

To tighten the bolts on your treadmill, locate the screws on the end of the machine. If the belt is loose, tighten the screws on the motor mount. If it's loose, loosen the bolts and stretch the belt. Then, tighten the bolts again. You can check for slipping on the belt by running a few laps. If the belt slipping, tighten the nuts and then stretch the rubber belt to make it more rigid.

After tightening the screws, you need to test the treadmill belt to make sure that it's properly positioned. To do this, turn the speed of your machine so that it's between two and three kilometers per hour. Next, locate the screw and turn it clockwise and counterclockwise to loosen the belt. You must ensure that the screws are tightened evenly so that it doesn't move when you run.

Once you've found the bolt, turn it until it's loose. Once the bolt is tight, turn it until the belt is perfectly aligned. Then, you'll need to adjust the bolt on the right side to make it looser. Tighten the belt on the left side. Tighten the belt on both sides. If the tension is too loose, the belt will not run. Instead, adjust the bolt on the left side.

Once you've done this, you should notice that the belt has shifted by a quarter inch. The next step is to tighten the screws on the right side. The screws on the left should be the same.
